why I won't be giving you a dollar

Dear dude on the corner,

even if i had a dollar, you would never see it for the following reasons:

1) you yelled at me from across the street.

2) you got my attention by yelling, "hey, sweetheart!"

3) you proceeded to demand, rather than ask, that I "give [you] a dollar so [you] can get something to eat."

mmm... nope.

my view...

...from under my desk. I've always wanted to nap down here. today, I got sleepy enough and the vault got empty enough for me to do it.

I've been adopted

how do you know when an animal considers you her person? when she fights to protect you. by this standard, my adoption process has been completed for Molly.

Dori and I have a unique bond. we aren't lubby dubby, both of us are a bit quirky, but neither of us is complete without the other. we love to play, and we love to play rough. I almost always bear physical scars from our most recent wrestling match.

it was during one such match last night that Molly woke up, panicked, and leapt hissing and clawing toward Dori, whom she perceived to be my attacker. She totally owned him as I unsuccessfully screamed for her to stop. in the end, I had two cats to console: my boy, who had been innocently playing with his mama, and my Molly, who had thrown herself into peril to defend her person.

fun times!

reflecting God's radiance

Exodus 34.33-35 - "When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face. But whenever he entered the LORD’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, they saw that his face was radiant. [...]"

Acts 4.13 - "The officials were amazed to see how brave Peter and John were, and they knew that these two apostles were only ordinary men and not well educated. The officials were certain that these men had been with Jesus."

I pray that my appearance, speech, emotions, and actions will be a reflection of God's radiant power and love, that although I am "only ordinary," others will be certain that I have been with Jesus.
