This article provides a unique and fascinating perspective on the intersection of homosexuality and theology. The writer is Mormon, but as he continually points out, the article is relevant for Christians as well.
In particular, the paragraph below speaks incredible and incredibly eloquent truth.
"If you know and love somebody who is gay and LDS (or Christian), your job is to love and nothing more. Let go of your impulse to correct them or control them or propel them down the path you think is right for them. Do what you need to do to move past that impulse. Do not condemn the choices your loved one makes. Love. Only love. Show your love in word and deed. Embrace them, both literally and figuratively. I promise they need it—and they need to feel like they can figure out this part of themselves in a safe way without ridicule and judgment. It’s what Christ would do. It’s what your loved one needs. Accept them. Love them. Genuinely and totally."

I'm glad God invented faith because He really doesn't make much sense sometimes.

standard of faithfulness
God, as i do everything i know to do to follow you, as i press as hard as i know how toward the goals you have put in my heart, i am holding you to your own standard of faithfulness. answer prayers. answer mine, answer those of my family and friends. boldly, because your word says i can, i shout to you: DON'T FORGET THE RAINBOWS. REMEMBER YOUR PROMISES. DO NOT LET ME DROWN. answer as only you can answer. answer according to your standard of faithfulness.

rainbows
i've just seen my second rainbow in two weeks. what an awesome reminder of how awesome and awesomely faithful my God is.
life is crazy. in two weeks, i've taken a comprehensive exam; spent a week at camp with three boys; spent a week driving a bus and ringing a bell for vbs; started studying for a second comprehensive exam; started looking for a new place to live; and house/pet sat for two women in my church who have 3 cats, 2 dogs, 1 bird. also, i have seen two rainbows, two reminders of God's constant faithfulness in the midst of life's craziness.
camp really was fantastic. michael and i spent the week at north greenville university with three of our boys. we shared a ton of laughs and made so many memories. i am so grateful that God called me to work with these guys for this time. i love the youth i serve. youth ministry probably is not my lifelong calling, but God has been so faithful (rainbow) to rain down so many blessings as i have followed his lead. what an awesome LORD!
God, grant me the wisdom, the courage to follow you always. with each rainbow, remind me not only of your faithfulness but also of the debt of obedience i owe you.
